Facility Features, Working Principle and Specifications

Facility Description

Facility Description

Absolute Molecular Weight determination

Features Working Principle

SEC-MALS describes a technique for measuring the light scattered by a sample into a plurality of angles. It is used for determining both the absolute molar mass and the average size of molecules in solution, by detecting how they scatter light. A collimated beam from a laser source is most often used, in which case the technique can be referred to as multiangle light scattering (MALS).

Body Specification

DAWN 8, Static Light Scattering Detector (Ex.Wyatt Technology) (WD38)

Multi-angle, digital signal processing (DSP) light scattering detector with Programmable laser (10 - 100%) Laser Wavelength: 658 nm

8 angle research grade light scattering photometer for absolute molar mass determinations.

Temp Control

Ambient Molar Mass Range: 2000 Da to 100 MDa.
