Liquefaction of Helium gas

Features Working Principle

The compressed Helium gas passes through several heat exchangers for precooling and is subsequently isentropically expanded in Turbo-Expanders and further undergoes JT expansion. Liquefied helium stored in dewar.

The main parts of the LHe plant are:

  • Recirculation compressor
  • Oil Removal System and Dryer
  • Buffer Vessel
  • Cold Box
  • Dewar
  • Recovery Gas Bag
  • Recovery Compressor
