Facility Features, Working Principle and Specifications

Facility Description

Facility Description

Advanced hybrid, additive-subtractive 5-axis manufacturing facility with capabilities of direct printing parts of steel, super alloys, and titanium alloys. The facility can manufacture precision parts for aerospace and other advanced sectors. In one of its kind capability, the facility has an artificial-intelligence-based digital twin running on a private 5G network to simulate Industry 4.0, the factory of the future.

Features Working Principle
  1. Additive Hybrid Machining
  • Repair or modify parts adding material just where it’s needed
  • Manufacture complex parts not previously possible
  • Quickly make prototypes to prove out new designs
  • Apply different materials to the same part for best design, weight and strength
  • 3D print to near net shape and finish machine in a single part setup
  • React quickly and cost-effectively with faster lead times
  • Produce high-density parts with superior resolution in a clean working environment with wire Laser DED
  • Supports offline programming software suppliers such as Autodesk, GibbsCAM and Mastercam

  1. Universal Machines – 5-Axis Machining

The Haas 5-Axis Universal Machining Centre has changed the landscape of the machine tool industry. Without doubt the larger travels and bigger platter of the Haas UMC-1000 makes it ideal for 5-axis machining of large parts. The UMC-1000SS is equipped with a faster spindle, high-speed tool changer, and high-speed trunnion table to reduce cycle times and boost productivity.

  • 5-axis simultaneous machining
  • Powerful inline direct-drive spindle
  • Large capacity side-mount tool changer
  • Includes Wireless Intuitive Probing System

  1. DWO/TCPC Changes Everything:

  • Simplifies setup operations
  • Part and fixture can be placed anywhere on the table/platter
  • No need to regenerate programs from the CAM system
  • Makes setting up 5-axis jobs as easy as setting up a 3-axis machine
  • Includes the Rotary Axis Calibration Tool
