Facility Features, Working Principle and Specifications

Facility Description

Facility Description

Quantum Design’s Physical Properties Measurement System with CCR attachment is a versatile instrument for physical properties characterization. This a low temperature ranging from 1.8 K to 300 K facility with high magnetic field ± 9 T and also high ac-frequency up to 10 kHz along with ac-driven field 15 Oe. There are several mode available for different measurement, like dc-magnetization, ac-susceptibility , electrical resistance and heat capacity.

Instructions for Registration, Sample Preparation, User Instructions and Precautionary Measures

Instructions for Registration

User will apply online.

An appointment will be given as per queue and will be informed by email.

New users are requested to contact facility manager of lab before registration.

Instruction for Sample Preparation

Solid sample is required for all measurements.

For ac- and ac- magnetization, solid and powder sample will be required

For heat capacity, one flat surface is required and sample mass will be less than 15 mg.

For resistance measurement, brick shape sample is required (max size- 1 *0.3*0.3 cm3).

The same brick shape is required for thermal transport properties.

Note: Liquid sample is not allowed.
