Facility Features, Working Principle and Specifications
Principle: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers are analytical devices that exploit the magnetic properties of certain atomic nuclei to determine physical and chemical properties of atoms or the molecules in which they are contained.
NMR is a spectroscopic technique that detects energy absorbed by changes in the nuclear spin state. It involves transition of a nucleus from one spin state to another with the resultant absorption of radiofrequency radiation by spin active nuclei (nuclei with spin ≠ to zero) when they are placed in a magnetic field. A plot of peak intensity versus the frequency absorbed (represented as δ,chemical shift) constitutes an NMR spectrum.
Features: Spectrometer Frequency: 600 MHz
