Facility Features, Working Principle and Specifications
Facility Description
The iSorbHP-100 is a high-pressure gas sorption analyzer designed for the characterization of sorbent materials. It is especially useful in the fields of carbon dioxide and methane sequestration, hydrogen storage (through physisorption or hydride formation), and microporous material studies for gas separation. This instrument provides fully automated volumetric measurements of full adsorption and desorption isotherms across a wide range of pressures and temperatures, commonly referred to as a Sieverts apparatus.
- High-Pressure Capability:
- Supports pressure analysis up to 100 bar, suitable for advanced material characterization and high-pressure adsorption studies.
- Accurate Pressure Measurement:
- High-precision pressure transducers provide measurements with an accuracy of 0.05% of full scale, ensuring reliable results.
- Enhanced Sensitivity:
- Separate pressure transducers on the sample cell allow isolation from the dosing volume during equilibration, reducing void volume and improving sensitivity.
- Efficient Outgassing:
- Equipped with a turbo-molecular pump, enabling outgassing at pressures as low as 10⁻⁹ mbar, ideal for microporous samples with complex pore structures.
- Precise Adsorptive Dosing:
- The dosing manifold is calibrated at multiple points, providing accurate dosing control even at high pressures.
- Safety Features:
- Integrated interlocks and safety mechanisms in both software and hardware ensure operator safety during high-pressure operations.
- Leak-Tight System:
- The system features metal seals and low-leak pneumatic valves throughout, ensuring minimal leak rates and reliable surface excess measurements.
