Features Working Principle

A Formtracer is a surface measurement system that uses a stylus or probe to scan the surface of a sample and measure its topography. The stylus, typically diamond-tipped, moves across the surface, detecting vertical displacements caused by surface features like peaks and valleys. These height variations are recorded, creating a detailed 2D or 3D surface profile. Formtracers are widely used in precision engineering and quality control to measure surface roughness, texture, and form with high accuracy.
